Dr. Tim Bowser was a member of the first graduating class from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. He practiced in Florida until 1998, when he was able to follow his dream of living in Alaska.
Dr. Bowser and his wife, Marian, have been blessed with four children and four grandchildren, all living in the area. Dr. Bowser currently serves on the Alaska Board of Veterinary Examiners. He stays busy at home with his animals and his tractor. He has worked as a trail veterinarian on the Iditarod, Copper Basin 300 and Tustumena 200 sled dog races. He enjoys most outdoor activities including hiking, riding horses, hunting and fishing.

Dr. Marie "Meezie" Hermansen was born in Soldotna and raised in Cohoe. She grew up commecial fishing on the family set-net site where she still spends her days off in the summer and her vacation time.
Dr. Hermansen graduated from SoHi, received a Bachelors degree from Pacific University in Oregon and graduated from Colorado State Universtiy's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She returned home after graduation to start a career she loves in the place she loves. She joined the Soldotna Animal Hospital staff in November of 1999.

Dr. Katie Sessions grew up in Grand Bay, Alabama in South Mobile County on a family farm. She practiced in West Mobile, Alabama for 3 years before moving to Soldotna in late June 2005. Katie and her fiancee Wes came with their two dogs, Bane and June Bug.
Dr. Katie recieved her Bachelors degree in Animal and Dairy Sciences from Auburn University College of Agriculture in 1998. In 2002 she recieved her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Sherrie Glad Egbert, Lead Receptionist, moved to Alaska with her family in 1966. Born in Portland, Oregon, she was raised in Kenai and graduated from Kenai Central High. After college she lived in Anchorage, where she met her husband, Bill. They celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2005.
Sherrie has been working as a Veterinary receptionist since 1998. She was hired by Dr. Bowser in February of 1999 to work the front office at his new Veterinary Hospital, which would open in April of 1999.
Sherrie and Bill have three dogs and two cats. Two of their dogs, Cori and Gemma, are trained in Dog Agility, and compete in Agility Trials with Sherrie.

Cristie Quiner, Receptionist, was born in Baker City, Oregon and lived in Northeast Oregon until her family moved to Philomath, Oregon in the Willamette Valley. There she met her husband Patrick. They have two daughters, Kyndra and Athalia. In June 2005, they packed up and moved from Albany, Oregon to Homer, Alaska.
Cristie began working as a Veterinary Receptionist in 1994 at a 24 hour Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Corvallis Oregon. In July of 2005 she was hired by Dr. Bowser. She and her family have two dogs, Bruin and Pandora, and two cats, Monster and Mango. Her family participates in the Society of Creative Anachronisims (SCA), a world-wide Middle Ages and Renaissance re-creation group.

Amy Rogde, Licensed Veterinary Technician, was born and raised in the Lake Iliamna area. She grew up Commercial Fishing in Bristol Bay.
Amy started working as a kennel technician in 1997, and became a Liscensed Veterinary Technician in 2002. She moved to Soldotna and started working for Dr. Bowser in 2001.
Amy enjoys fishing, hunting, horseback riding and cross country skiing. She and her husband Mike have 2 dogs, Riley and Tucker, a horse named Lacey and sheep.

Barbara Cameron, Veterinary Technician, was born and raised in Connecticut. She and her husband Nelson followed their lifelong dream and moved from Sterling, Connecticut to Sterling, Alaska. They packed up their motorhome with the two dogs, Keisha, Onyx and Aleutia and their three cats, Crissy, Aries and Whine and drove north in July of 2005.
Barbara worked as a Veterinary Technician in Connecticut for a few years before starting work for Dr. Bowser in August of 2005.
Barbara and her husband enjoy hiking, camping and the outdoors. Barbara also did Animal Rescue for 10 years in Connecticut.

Sarah Theiss, Receptionist, was born and raised in Alaska. She has lived in Texas, Utah and Idaho before settling again in Alaska. She started at Soldotna Animal Hospital in August of 2006. She has always had a love of animals and it seemed like this is a perfect job for her. She has 2 dogs, Tucker a Great Pyrenees, Emile a Standard Poodle and cats, Buttons and Bomber and Biggles.
When Sarah isn't at work, she enjoys hunting, fishing, and watching movies with her husband Aaron.
Pernilla "Nilla" Ekstrom-Rypka, Licensed Veterinary Technician, was born and raised in Storvik, Sweden. She and her husband Jeff moved to Alaska from Minnesota in February 2006 and she started working here at Soldotna Animal Hospital in March 2006. Nilla has had a lifelong interest in animals and veterinary care and started her career in veterinary medicine at a clinic in Minnesota while going to school.
Nilla and her husband enjoy hiking, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snowmachining and reading. She has a horse, Bella, her beagle Jasmine and Buddy the cat.
